JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for the design, implementation and management of associate benefit plans and programs that deliver maximum employee value that are cost effective and achieve the financial savings goals of the organization. The incumbent directs benefit programs that meet the needs of a diverse associate population and are meaningful and innovative with the objective of effectively attracting, retaining and engaging associates at all levels. The incumbent’s role is critical in supporting the SCLHS business and HR Strategies and plans and further SCLHS’ mission through effective stewardship of resources

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor degree required.
15 years of building experience in Human Resources including 6 – 8 years of relevant benefits management experience and prior experience in other areas of Human Resources

Prior Corporate Benefits and/or Investment Committee experience
5-7 year of prior management experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

MBA with concentration in HR Management or Finance

Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) designations would be a plus but not required.

SITE DESCRIPTION:

This position is located on the Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital campus in Denver, CO.

UNIT DESCRIPTION:

Employee Occupational Health Services (EOHS) provides medically related services to Exempla employees. The EOHS clinic is staffed by a physician, RNs, MAs and administrative personnel.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This MA role is mostly front office in nature and administrative. This individual will be responsible for managing the medical leave of absence program at Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital; tracking timelines required by law for employee notices; preparing employee and management correspondance; managing files associated with medical leaves; counseling employees on program requirements and explaining policies associated with medical leaves. This position will have the opportunity to work the front office in EOHS and provide back office services to employees as needed. EOHS provides health screenings in the Pre-placement/ Post- offer physical screening program; collects drug screens; administers the immunization program; coordinates and implements the annual flu vaccination and respirator fit-test programs; and tracks compliance for regulatory programs. Other duties may be assigned in support of Exempla and EOHS mission, vision and values.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or GED; 2 or more years of medical office and/or administrative experience; an understanding of medical terminology; experience with Word, Excel, and Powerpoint; other responsibilities and duties as assigned from time to time, based upon Exempla needs or requirements. Eligible or certified as a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experienced writing professional correspondance. Some college classes or degree preferred. Working knowledge of FMLA and occupational medicine principles and practices.

The Benefit Specialist leads a variety of plan design, implementation and cost management programs and projects to ensure that SCLHS provides maximum value to employees at the lowest possible cost. This position ensures that employee participation is optimized through educated, well informed employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

BS with major in HR Management, Business Administration or Finance; MBA helpful
7 - 10 years of building experience in Human Resources including 4 – 5 years of relevant compensation and benefits experience
Prior benefit administration experience including research, analysis, design, communications, implementation, enrollments, system requirements and vendor arrangements

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The VP of HR is responsible for developing and interpreting human resources policies, procedures and practices in accordance with company goals. The role reports formally to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) but is accountable on a day-to-day basis to the site Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The VP of HR provides strong on-site customer service support, human resources management, and administrative leadership and operates as a member of site senior leadership team. As a senior member of the SCLHS/Exempla Healthcare enterprise-wide Human Resource team, he/she participates in the design and development of system-wide programs that will help the organization become a preferred employer.

The VP of HR consults with and educates clients on a variety of professional human resources initiatives, including but not limited to, employee relations, interventions, EEO/AAP, compensation, recruitment, organizational development, strategic planning, labor laws, wage and hour regulation, employment laws, regulatory compliance, etc. In addition, he/she will analyze cost effectiveness of various programs including staff planning; investigate, respond to, and coordinate the employer’s position statements for legal charges and lawsuits; and assess the strength of management capabilities and will suggest appropriate development plans or interventions. The VP assesses and develops plans for effective communication. He/she will also develop and implement employee training, development and job enrichment initiatives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in related field.

A minimum of six years experience in progressively increasing roles and responsibility levels in human resources at a leadership/professional position.

Health care experience in a health system at the hospital level is highly desirable.

Competency in all human resources functions with emphasis on effective strategies and success in attracting and retaining quality talent. Specific areas of emphasis include: employee relations, labor law, recruitment, policy design, affirmative action/EEP, performance management, and training and development.

Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred.

Ability to act at a strategic level and at the same time ensure effective execution of human resources policies and practices.

Ability to gather input from all levels of organization and build consensus. Strong facilitation and communication skills needed.

Ability to assess organizational readiness and a good understanding of business issues.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

An advanced degree in human resources management, business administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience
