JOB DESCRIPTION:

Performs cardiac ultrasound procedures that utilize high frequency sound waves to evaluate internal organs and vessels for the diagnosis of disease. 1. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. 2. Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress reports, and other such reports. 3. Performs ~~all~~ultrasound techniques and examinations, cardiac exams, and vascular exams. 4. Maintains records of examination data and other pertinent information on patients. 5. Assists physician in administering medicines as required. 6. Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations. 7. Positions and transfers patients comfortably. 8. Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis. 9. Selects and operates equipment as directed. 10. Secures and returns supplies such as film, linens, medicine, patient folders. 11. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops. 12. Attends meetings as required. 13. Develops film through automatic processing. 14. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

CT Technologist IV will, in collaboration with the team lead, practice and promote The Best in the Nation Service Behaviors, Strategies and Priorities. Performs computerized tomography procedures. Selects appropriate imaging techniques and protocols to complete the exam. Receives patients, explains method of examination, and positions patient, performs IV puncture, and administers IV contrast agent when indicated. Independently performs and completes routine examinations. Meets the needs of the patient, family and multi-disciplinary team through effective communication, coordination and documentation ensuring safety, care, courtesy and efficiency. Actively participates in quality initiatives to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction, highest level of patient care and workflow efficiencies.

Performs a variety of CT procedures to produce images of a patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Collaborates with both internal and external healthcare team members to contribute to the plan of care of the patient. Practices patient safety. JOB DESCRIPTION:

Participates in establishing mechanisms to design, measure and improve the performance of department services.

Provides communication with staff and physicians through rounding, huddles, staff meetings and other forms of communication to insure communication regarding department updates, organizational activities, financial updates, educational opportunities, interdepartmental activities and QI activities.

Monitors the needs and expectations of patients, staff and physicians to insure exceptional levels of satisfaction.

Communicates information to the management team through group discussion and individual meetings.

Supervises and coordinate daily operations of all shifts within the Department of Medical Imaging.

Maintains effective and appropriate staffing and staff scheduling to ensure safe, quality patient care.
