JOB DESCRIPTION:

Works under the supervision of the Laboratory Information Systems Manager. Maintains normal LIS system operations, performs LIS file maintenance, develops and writes system and operational procedures and reports. Validates LIS hardware and software releases and instrument / system interfaces. Verifies and troubleshoots computer system and computer peripheral device performance. Ensures quality and regulatory compliance of all computer operations. Acts as a liaison for inter/intra laboratory/hospital/vendor projects/problems/issues/concerns. Serves as a computer application resource person at each site while maintaining excellent communication, follow through and service to all customers.

Performs database surveillance and maintains the security and integrity of the LIS and databases for applications that support the LIS.
Troubleshoots hardware and software product issues to a point of adequate resolution or cause and effect.
Performs product verification/validation and documents outcomes of any software and/or hardware changes or enhancements implemented. Uses auditing programs and test plans to verify the accuracy of the system databases and billing systems.
Works in conjunction with IST and vendor in establishing, maintaining, and troubleshooting connections with remote devices, including; printers, servers, modems, instruments, and interfaces for local area (LANS) and wide area networks (WANS). Documents maintenance activities and system or interface downtimes.
Analyzes software and hardware functionality and helps to create short and long term plans for software and hardware upgrades, enhancements, and services that support laboratory operations.
Provides training and/or training tools to end users for LIS applications or other essential software applications as needed to perform job duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor degree in computer sciences or computer related field. A Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology with computer experience can be substituted.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of two (2) years of experience with networks, PCs and/or Laboratory Information Systems preferred. MT(ASCP) preferred.
Database experience helpful.
Experience with Sunquest Information Systems, Mediware HCLL , and/or Crystal Reports desirable.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Works under the supervision of the Rapid Response Laboratory Leadership. Performs and interprets designated test procedures in the Rapid Response Laboratory. Performs a variety of laboratory duties following established procedures, protocols and guidelines of the department and/or organization. " Perform all designated RRL procedures competently, including Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Specimen Processing, Blood Bank, and Microbiology when designated. " Set up and perform a variety of technical and complex tests following established procedures. " Recognize and solve problems or determine alternative solutions for analysis if needed and report all deviations from established procedures to the Manager or appropriate Supervisor. " Interpret, correlate and report test results. Verify computer-generated reports. Investigate erroneous test values and inform RRL Supervisor of all irregularities, errors or instrument failures and measures taken to solve. " Perform and document quality control and quality assurance. Document all quality control failures and corrective action taken. " Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration and make minor repairs to instrumentation. Notify Manager or Supervisor of any major instrument problems, efforts to correct and if any major repairs are needed. " Maintain accurate logs, records, files and all other required documentation. " Participate in updating and reviewing of procedures. " Keep assigned work areas clean and orderly and help to maintain supply inventory; use personal protective equipment appropriately and maintain a safe environment for patients and employees. " Train and orient new employees as requested. Complete training documentation as required. " Maintain a culture of service excellence. " Demonstrate responsible stewardship of our resources. " Perform other related job duties such as obtaining blood specimens from patients, bedside testing, clerical tasks, sending specimens to reference laboratories, conducting verification tests on new products and instrument/procedure comparison, statistical analysis, and special projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

" Three years or more of academic studies at an accredited college. Completion of 12 consecutive months of internship in an accredited school of medical technology leading to a Bachelor's degree or work experience in a laboratory which qualifies for examination of a national registry Or " MT (ASCP) or equivalent certification " Ability to use initiative and good judgement " Ability to read and interpret data " Ability to work under stress with close attention to details " Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with patients, public, co-workers and medical staff " In addition to the responsibilities described above, the role may include such other responsibilities and duties as assigned from time to time, based upon Exempla needs or requirements " National Medical Technologist registration by ASCP or equivalent within 6 months of eligibility.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

It is important to staff the evening shift with technologists who can be easily cross-trained on different benches. Therefore, we are looking for a tech with a background as a generalist tech and can be trained to work in Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, UA, Micro (setups only) and Blood Bank.

PHLEBOTOMIST -Wheat Ridge, CO

Works under the supervision of the Manager of Laboratory Services. Performs inpatient and outpatient venipunctures on adults, children and infants, including micro-collection techniques. Participates in performing bedside testing procedures, quality control procedures, data entry, and specimen processing and reception desk responsibilities. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma/ equivalent In addition to the responsibilities described above, the role may include such other responsibilities and duties as assigned from time to time, based upon Exempla needs or requirements. Phlebotomy Certification

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Formal phlebotomy training program " 6-12 months experience
