Implement effective occupational therapy examinations and intervention programs developed by an occupational therapist, and promote the practice of occupational therapy utilizing O.T. theory, sound judgment, and sensitivity to the patient's needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy assistant program. Knowledge and theory of occupational therapy practice as necessary to provide care, based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned service area. UNIT DESCRIPTION:

Our department provides Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy services to inpatients and outpatients. We have an extremely strong team of professionals and enjoy treating patients with a wide variety of diagnoses. Our staff is a crucial part of the patient care team at Exempla St. Joseph Hospital, and we are involved on many different teams and committees throughout the hospital. This position would practice in the inpatient setting. Outpatient coverage is possible if candidate has outpatient skills.

The Health and Healing Center is located in the Community Physicans Pavilion on the Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center Campus. Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is an integral part of the Health and Healing Center.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Plan and implement effective speech therapy intervention programs specializing in voice, including professional voice, neurological voice and vocal cord dysfunction. Promote the practice of speech therapy utilizing speech/language theory, sound judgment, and sensitivity to the patient's needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree in speech-language pathology. Knowledge and theory of speech pathology practice as necessary to provide care, based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria. In addition to the responsibilities described above, the role may include such other responsibilities and duties as assigned from time to time, based upon Exempla Healthcare needs or requirements. Certification of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology or in process of completing CFY required. BLS certification required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

One year related experience preferred. LSVT experience preferred but not required.
